El Comandante Restaurant
After dining in the Nicaraguense restaurant we interviewed our waiter Margarita. This location is going for it's third year in Van Nuys, after coming out from the 20 year old restaurant located in Los Angeles La 27. The reason the owner decided to make a new one in Van Nuys, was because his customers complained that it was a long drive from Van Nuys to Los Angeles to just get some tasty Nicaraguense food, and also because there is a great percentage of Nicaraguense people living in the valley. Margarita explains a few of the traditional plates and traditional drinks in the video below.
